Professional Projects
Tavern Talk
Tavern Talk is an award-winning visual novel indie game where you play as a tavernkeeper in a fantasy setting and talk to various adventurers about their lifes, past and upcoming journeys. This was the first project I worked on professionally and here I helped with both the producing and the coding. Notably I prepared tickets for sprint planning, improved the code of existing features and fixed various bugs during development. The biggest feature I was in charge of was the tutorial system where I had to work with articy:draft 3 and created it modularly so that Game Design/Writing could insert optional tutorial parts in various stages of the playthrough. I even wrote a devlog for it in the games Discord server where we presented that feature.

The Unstoppables 2
The Unstoppables 2 is a puzzle game for mobile devices that tries to educate children about living with disabilities through play. For this project I did both producing and worked on coding. My producing job included everything from talking to clients, to planning sprints and even moderating internal meetings. For coding on the other hand my focus was mostly on gameplay related tasks, especially the abilities of the playable characters and the implementation of puzzle elements. I also developed a majority of the UI features and did the project set-up. Recently this game got third place at the Tommi Children’s Software Award 2024 in the category ‘education’.

2P | XPloria DAZ
2P | XPloria DAZ was made with various state ministries of education and will be used in language classes to help people learn German as a language after immigrating. Here I exclusively did coding and helped implementing various task- and feedback types. Since we exclusively did the frontend of this project I also worked on implementing the communication with the backend that was made by a different company. This was a very big project so I learned a lot about working with a bigger codebase and all the intricacies that are connected to that.

Uni Projects
Pikimin
Pikimin is a game inspired by the old Pokémon games in which the player catches and fights with various creatures while trying to become the Pikimin Champion. It was the final project of my first semester that, due to being made with Christopher Zelch, taught me how to use version control and making games with other people. Since I did the design of the overwold map and routes I also learned a lot about Level Design. It was even honored in the SAE Spring Showreel. This game was made with Unity and used its built-in version control system. We used various design patterns, mainly singletons, and put a big emphasis on OOP.
Lost Waters
Lost Waters is a rhythm based hack and slay rogue-lite where you play as Eir and have to defeat waves of water creatures. This was quite a big student project done with a team of eleven people, where I was the only one with prior experience in Game Development. Therefore this journey taught me lots about project management and teaching less knowledgeable people proper procedures and industry standards. It was also made with Unitys Universal Render Pipeline and during the making I got used to working with Game Artists and Game Audio Designers.
Demake
For my bachelors I decided on making a game which shines light on the importance of every aspect in the games industry. To accomplish this task I made Demake, a 2D platformer where after every level you get put into the position of the developer of the aforementioned indie game and have to fire one of your employees and as such make cuts in your games quality. This was my final uni project and helped me understanding the difficulties of planning and directing. I also used design patterns I haven’t had much time trying so far, such as the component pattern.
Project Kaas
The mobile game Project Kaas is a online fun racer where people from around the world can compete against each other to see who can drive and use items the best. After making this game in the second semester I have learned how to make online games and create games for mobile devices. This game was also made with Christopher Zelch. Here I also planned and created all the maps to race on and honed my Level Design skills. For this Unity game I used Photon for the networking and Github for the version control. I also learned how to write complex systems by hand, such as the positions and placements logic.
Project Dragon
Project Dragon is a Commander-based Tower Defense game Before starting the game, you have to create a small team of monsters, with a Dragon as your Commander, these all have to be from the same faction. You will be attacked by waves of human knights and their weapons while defending with your team. This was another online mobile game which helped me honing my skills in developing and was done with Christopher Zelch. I again used Github, the URP and design patterns to code this game.
Get to know me

My name is Andre Peters and I am a game developer currently located in Frankfurt, Germany. I have a diploma and a bachelors of science in the field of Games Programming at the SAE Institute. Currently I work at Gentle Troll Entertainment as a Game Developer and Producer, with Gameplay Programming being by biggest forte. Professionally I have mostly used my C# and Unity skills, but I also am acquainted with C++ and Unreal. Due to my past projects I have some experience in making games in a team environment and even take a leadership position, if needed. Let’s make games together.
On the 10th of April 2001 I was born in Germany and grew up in the small town of Bad Harzburg in Lower Saxony. Since I have been a little boy video games were a huge part of my life. It didn’t matter if I was exploring the worlds of Pokémon on my Gameboy or competing in Mario Kart on the Gamecube with my friends I loved it all. This continued even until grammar school where I finished my A levels in 2019 and motivated me to study Games Programming at the SAE Institute in Frankfurt. Next to casually enjoying video games I have also competed in various Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournaments and helped creating a welcoming and friendly speedrunning community. Outside of video games I have always been a big fan of chess. This led to me getting a license to teach children chess after having competed in various tournaments for years. I am also quite an outgoing and caring person which made it easy for me to create a positive atmosphere at all the places I have worked at so far.
